Dimech dominates fans' poll

MALTESE international defender Luke Dimech has been named as Macclesfield’s A-Line player of the month for September.
Thirty-year-old Dimech has been highly impressive in the Silkmen’s defence since joining the club in July and won the award with 30 per cent of the fans’ votes.
He missed the games against Wrexham and Accrington due to his international commitments, but should return to the starting XI for Bury.
“It is very nice to get recognition for the work you’re doing,” he said. “It’s a good feeling, it’s nice to be appreciated.
“It’s good to come back to club football. I was delayed and didn’t get back until 4 o’clock on Thursday. So I’ve been going back and forth, it’s been hectic flying to Hungary and Malta and back to England, very tiring.
“It’s obviously nice to play for your country, but your club games are your bread and butter and, after you miss games, you might not get your place back.
“I’m still confident of a good season for Macclesfield, I just hope we haven’t peaked too early.”
