Wilmslow High School’s Year Eight footballers rounded off a fantastic season by lifting an historic treble.
The lads won the prestigious Shrewsbury School Football Tournament following eight tough matches against schools from across the country at the week-long residency in Shrewsbury.
Prior to this the boys had secured the Macclesfield and District Schools Cup with a 4-1 win over Fallibroome School and the Cheshire Cup with a 2-0 win over Weaverham School in a hard-fought final in Chester.
The boys have had an unprecedented season, scoring 159 goals in 30 matches and building on last season’s outstanding achievements, one of which was a place in the last four of a national cup, the furthest a junior school side has progressed in the English Schools’ FA Cup.
Coach Simon Mawer said: "This has been another magnificent season for the Under-13s and they have shown huge devotion and dedication.
"This originates from a positive attitude and a committed approach to everything from additional training sessions to important cup matches.
"They have worked extremely hard and should be immensely proud and satisfied with theirsuccess."
