Pack Horse proved they are still the team to beat this season in the Sunday League after a first-half demolition of AC Bollan.

Jake McGarry, Jordan Hitchen, Nick Ward and Lee Malkin and Harry Wheetman all scored to make it 5-0 at half-time. Bollan did rally in a scoreless second half but they couldn’t break down the Pack defence as keeper Dom Chell kept another clean sheet.

Spinners moved up into fourth after a 1-0 victory against Vale, Jamie Collins getting the decisive goal.

Prestbury got a welcome three points against an Ox-fford side who can’t seem to string two wins together. Dave Billington scored both goals for Ox-fford but it wasn’t enough as Prestbury powered home 5-2. Jordan Pearson scored twice, including one from the penalty spot, and he was joined on the scoresheet by Emlyn Quartey, Omar Lampety and Matt Towlson.

Queens also hit five, against Plough who are doomed to relegation back to the First Division. They had the potential hold their own in the Premier but a spate of injuries to key players and absences has meant it’s been a long season already and they are still searching for their first win.

Queens led from start to finish with Devon Gibson scoring the pick of the goals. Stu Ainsworth and Ryan Foster finished with two apiece as Queens ran out easy 5-1 winners. Derek Lownds grabbed a consolation.

With Bruce A not playing, Nags Head had an excellent opportunity to open up a three-point gap but they blew their opportunity as they lost 4-3 to a 91st minute goal from Chilli Banana’s Matt Beresford.

Nags only have themselves to blame. They had plenty of chances but missed a host of them, including a penalty.

Seventeen-year-old Simon Wood hit two goals at crucial times and inspired the older players around him. Matt Beresford had given Chilli the advantage but Nags were never out of the game and Andy Webb equalised from Anthony Byrne’s long throw.

An own goal early in the second half gifted Nags the advantage but on the hour mark Wood scored a spectacular equaliser. Gareth Gibbons, guilty of some wayward shooting, partially redeemed himself as he made it 3-2 to the visitors but Chilli were level a minute later when Wood got his second of the game. A spectacular save from Chilli keeper Nathan Taylor kept them in it before Luca Sordillo broke clear in stoppage time and crossed for Beresford to side foot home from four yards.

At Congleton Road Bruce B suffered a surprisingly heavy defeat to Sporting Weston, who had only won three games all season. Sam Frazer topped the list of scorers in the 7-3 victory as he grabbed a hat-trick but there were also goals from Josh Njai, Carl Barlow, Scott Boulton and Dan Patten. For Bruce there were goals from Max Cowling-Jones, David Wright and Adam Geoghagen.

Railway suffered no ill effects from last weekend’s cup defeat as they completely overwhelmed injury-hit Fermain 7-1. Chris Coxon who just couldn’t stop scoring as he led a one-man crusade, scoring the first six goals himself. Chris Newton added a seventh with Stephen Marshall scoring for Fermain.

Poynton Village move up to sixth after a comfortable 3-0 victory against Lord Byron at Lacy Green. Ric Cash opened the scoring from the spot with Sam Marshall and Kevin Storer completing the scoring.

The game was marred by a moment of ill discipline near the end which saw referee Ian Battersby dish out three red cards as players from both sides rushed to confront each other after a mistimed tackle.

At Barnaby Road, Poynton Legion proved no match for league leaders Broken Cross as they cruised to a 6-0 victory. On target again was Jonathan Flower whose cross-cum-shot completely deceived the Legion keeper and flew into the net. Tom Moores added two more with Jonny Mercer, Martin Firth and Rob Perry completing the rout.
