EMILE Sinclair has returned to Nottingham Forest after his loan deal at Macclesfield expired.

The striker’s month-long stay at the Moss Rose saw the 21-year-old score one goal in six outings.

"We were keen to extend the deal, but Forest have been struggling with injuries up front so it wasn’t a surprise when Billy Davies (Forest manager) decided to recall him," said Macc boss Keith Alexander.

"I’ve got one or two waiting to come in for Emile - Simon Yeo, Gareth Evans, who’s been left out for a bit of a rest, and John Rooney.

"So we’ve got a lot of competition for places and some of the squad who want to be here next season have got to perform."

Alexander already has one eye on next season, and preparations are in place for any changes he feels will be needed in summer.

"Our aim now is to get as many points on the board as we can and see if some of the players who are on the fringes are good enough for what I want for next season," he added.

"We’ve got 10 or 12 players out of contract and I want to bring six quality players in.

"I’ve spoken to a lot of players and hopefully I’ve got four of them lined up and, mark my words, we’ll not be too far away.

"We know what’s required to get out of this division. I’ve never been one to settle for mid-table mediocrity.

"Having said that, with the position that the club has been in for the last two or three seasons, that’s got to be a stepping block for us to build on next season."
