WITH off-the-field problems threatening to overshadow what has already been a poor start to the season, the Silkmen travel to Wrexham on Saturday, a club also beset by financial worries.

Despite winning the LDV Trophy Final at the Millennium Stadium last season, beating Southend United 2-0 in the final, Denis Smith’s side were relegated from League One and saw star striker Juan Ugarte depart.

Saturday’s draw with Leyton Orient saw a debut for 17-year-old keeper Michael Jones with Smith forced to rely on the club’s youth policy to nurse them through their injury problems.

He joined fellow youth products Mark Jones and Levi Mackin in the starting XI, with teenagers Simon Spender and Mike Williams on the bench.

Consequently, Macc will be looking to Martin Bullock to capitalise on any youthful inexperience and add to his three goals in the last two games.
