PETERBOROUGH United will be looking to halt a run of three successive defeats when they travel to Macclesfield on Saturday.

Posh, four places above the Silkmen in League Two, have struggled after dropping a division last year.

Mark Wright took charge in the close season with Barry Fry moving upstairs, but it has been an uneasy start to the new campaign for the former Chester boss.

Peterborough have not been helped by the loss of star man Calum Willock, the club’s leading scorer last term, through injury. Like Jon Parkin, he damaged knee ligaments in a pre-season friendly and has yet to appear, though he may make the squad after successfully coming through a reserve team game this week.

Posh will be further boosted by the return of goalkeeper Mark Tyler and influential midfielder Peter Gain, a summer capture from Lincoln City.
