THIS will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams, with Macc looking to complete a ‘treble’ over their neighbours from Staffordshire.

After putting four past the Valiants in September’s league meeting, Macc returned to Vale Park and won 3-1 to set up the FA Cup clash with Everton.

Manager Dean Glover, who took over following Lee Sinnott’s dismissal, has recently agreed a deal to keep Wolves defender Lee Collins at the club until the summer, although former Macc midfielder Neil MacKenzie has criticised the negativity of the fans and will not return after his loan spell ended in December.

Vale’s game against Exeter was postponed and so their last outing was a 2-1 win over Rochdale that ended a three-game losing streak.

Captain and leading goalscorer Marc Richards will complete his three-game suspension on Saturday. Glover’s side could do with his return as they have hit just 24 in the league, and only Grimsby Town have scored fewer.
