Coca Cola League Two

MAJESTIC Macclesfield Town move into fifth place in League Two thanks to a record breaking hat-trick from Jon Parkin.

Parkin scored his 18th, 19th and 20th goals of the season to decimate one of the leagueés founder clubs - the third a penalty, given to him by regular spot kicker and now former record holder Matthew Tipton.

The victory was also the Silkmenés biggest in their eight-year Football League history.

Macc set the ball rolling in the 27th minute when record signing Danny Swailes met a Paul Harsley corner with a ferocious downward header into the back of the net before being mobbed by his team-mates in celebration.

The Silkmen took the game by the throat in the 38th minute when Jon Parkin deftly took the ball around Julien Baudet before being brought down by Deeney. The ball then broke clear to the Macc striker who smashed home his 18th goal of the season.

Parkin got his second of the game when he raced on to Mike Welchés raking ball to fire home right-footed from the edge of the area.

Dave Morley added the fifth with a superb header from Kevin McIntyreés cross and Parkin wrapped up a magical night from the spot after Matt Tipton had gallantly handed him the ball in the last minute following Baudetés foul on Danny Whitaker.
