Poynton Kings stay top after a remarkable turnaround against Club AZ. Trailing 2-0 to goals from Chris Howard and Tim Hammond they produced a thrilling comeback to take a 3-2 victory with all three goals coming from captain Tom Hopkins including two penalties.

At Jubilee Fields, High Lane suffered their third league defeat of the season as they lost 1-0 to Boarhound. Simon Gibbons showed why he has scored over 30 goals this season as he raced onto a ball over the top to calmly slide the winner past Jason Rathmill.

Both Old Alts teams had notable victories this weekend and it was the A’s 2-1 victory away at Cheadle Hulme that raised more than a few eyebrows. Alts have looked a different side since signing Ben Reeves and he scored what proved to be the winner in the second half after Adam Jackson had given the visitors the lead. Nick Shamot replied for Cheadle who wasted a host of chances to steal a point.

Old Alts East also scored two as they defeated Mary Dendy 2-0 at Crossford Bridge. Mike Brookes’ penalty gave them the lead after five minutes and Jeff Marshall secured the points from a corner.

An exciting encounter at Deva Close saw Poynton Village secure their second win of the campaign after a 3-2 victory over Wilmslow Sport, Liam Grant scoring the winner in the second half. Sam Marshall gave the hosts a 1-0 lead going into the second half but it was the introduction of substitute Aaron Green that caused a spark as he made it 2-1 after Sam Bowers had equalised for Wilmslow. Dom Hadfield brough Wilmslow level again at 2-2 before Grant grabbed a deserved winner.
