Wilmslow Albion opened their Manchester League Division One season with a defeat to Beechfield United on Saturday.
Albion’s new sponsors Travis Perkins (Stockport Whitehill branch) have provided a new kit for the team.
Albion lost the game 2-0 but it was a very close encounter.
Beechfield’s first goal had more than an suspicion of hand ball about it and when Albion appeared to have equalised through Steve Owen his effort was controversially disallowed for hand ball.
Albion chased the game and were punished in the dying minutes when Beechfield scored the second and killer goal.
Albion were to go to Fives Athletic in midweek and host Woodley on Saturday.
