A fantastic 11-goal cup tie ended in heartbreak for Sporting Kerridge as they conceded three to Nags Head in extra-time.

There were hat-tricks and penalties on both sides with Steve Bellerby grabbing three for Sporting and Lee Anderson hitting three for Nags.

Making up the magnificent seven for Nags were Anthony Byrne (2), Craig Poyser and Matt Booth with his first goal in the Sunday League. Dave Findlow hit Kerridge’s fourth.

Last season’s semi-finalists Macc Boys Seniors progressed with ease after a 6-2 win over Division One side Tythy Juniors.

Having lost Dan Avery last week with a broken ankle Tythy found themselves up against a Macc Boys side in fine form.

Chris Coppenhall scored twice, Gareth Hunt, Chris Adams, Darren Adams and Eddie Roberts also notching, while Tythy’s goals came from Nick Hadfield and Lewis Peterson.

There was an early exit for cup specialists Ox-fford despite a brace from Jack Jones. Vale proved too strong after goals from Adam Cheetham, Osbourne Hull and Dan Mountford sent them through with a 3-2 victory.

Chester Road Tavern can consider themselves unfortunate to be out after seeing FC Congleton’s Mark Heath equalise in the 89th minute of normal time and then take the tie in extra time with an Alex Heller goal.

Macc Boys’ unbeaten run continued with a 3-1 win at home to Railway View.

Alex Tomlinson and Dave Short have now scored 11 goals between them in all competitions, a good return, particularly from midfielder Tomlinson who was playing at centre half.

Ian Potts caused problems all afternoon for Railway and made it 2-1 but when Macc Boys Chris Smallman scored a third in the second half it really was game over.

In a predictably tight game between Brewers and Spinners, Dave Williams scored the only goal five minutes from time. With Spinners on top Brewers keeper Dom Chell made several fine saves before Williams broke the deadlock to send the Spinners through.

After Boarhound’s heavy defeat to Pack horse last week they proved no match for AC Bollan as Tim Hammond (2) and Andy Davies made it 3-0 by half-time.

Further goals from Andy Davies and Simon Bush made it five before Hound sub Steve Archer fired a consolation from the edge of the area.
