SKY Sportsé Soccer AM cameras visited Macc Townés training ground this week to film the Crossbar Challenge.

Fans of the show and of the Silkmen will have been waiting for this event in the football calender for a long time, so the club, while not knowing the exact date of transmission of the Silkmenés attempts, would urge them to keep an eye out on Saturday mornings from now on.

éThe Crossbar Challengeé, for those not glued to their screen every Saturday morning, involves a weekly trip to the training ground of a British league football team. The entire squad, coaching staff and managers are filmed, one-by-one, introducing themselves and attempting to hit the crossbar directly from the halfway line.

A successful strike onto the crossbar usually provokes Cup Final-esque celebrations.

The current record is held by Northampton Town who hit the crossbar eight times in their crossbar challenge and were later described by presenter Tim Lovejoy as éthe best team in the worldé as a result.

Details of the transmission date and the Silkmenés attempt to overhaul this record and officially become the best team in the world themselves will be available soon.
