Macc Town completed their pre-season programme with a routine win over Rhyl.

Paul Bolland’s 20th minute goal was the difference between the two sides but the game proved to be little more than a stroll for the Silkmen.

It was left-back Carl Tremarco who created the opening for Bolland, advancing down the left before pulling back for the midfielder to fire home.

Richard Butcher saw a curler tipped around the post by Lilywhites keeper Anthony Costa while the Cymru Alliance side came closest to a goal when Chris Williams hit a free-kick straight into the arms of Macc stopper Jose Veiga.

Just before half-time, Emile Sinclair cleared the bar following Sam Wedgbury’s neat through-ball.

In the second half a Sinclair shot thudded off the outside of the near post and substitute Vinny Mukendi’s charging run ended with his effort being tipped clear as Macc saw out the victory that puts them in good form with eight victories and just one defeat.
