MACC Townés youth team will face Premiership opposition in the shape of Everton at the Moss Rose in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.

The tie looks set to be played at the Moss on Wednesday, December 13, and will be the first time that the clubés youth team has competed at this stage of the competition.

The Macc youngsters secured another first by progressing to the second round where they knocked out fellow North West Division Group B strugglers Shrewsbury Town 1-0.

In a week of firsts for the Silkmen, with the senior team getting their first win of the season against Walsall in the FA Cup, youth team boss John Askey stated that he was pleased with the performance, but that there is more to come from his young charges.

Askey said: "The level of performance wasnét quite as good as ités been in the last few weeks, but I think we can probably put that down to nerves and be glad that we came out on top and are in the next round for the first time.

"Ités a good draw for us, and while weére probably not expected to win the game, Iéll be telling the lads to go out there and give it a go and enjoy the experience.

"Ités a big tie for us and ités nice to get a big name in the later stages of any competition. Hopefully thatéll generate a bit of interest in the town."
