BRIAN Horton will be working hard to bring in new faces before Saturdayés trip to Rushden and Diamonds.

The Macclesfield Town boss was unhappy with his sideés performance in a 2-0 defeat to Cheltenham Town last Saturday, and rang the changes in the FA Cup replay against Alfreton Town.

But Horton has admitted he could be looking to bring in some new names in time to face Rushden - where the Silkmen have failed to score, or win in the past.

"I have made three or four enquiries over the past few days, and Iéll be pursuing them after the game tonight," he told Express Sport.

"Iém looking at probably a couple of players in a couple of positions if I can. The squad is small and I think it needs a bit of a gee up.

"I wasnét happy with the passing from midfield on Saturday. Iéll be making some changes."

One area of the field which has provoked the most debate in the days after the Cheltenham defeat has been in goal, where current number one Alan Fettisé place looks to be under threat from Steve Wilson.

The Northern Irishman has admitted he should have saved The Robinsé second goal at the weekend - but Horton was giving little away before the weekend.

"Professional footballers are quite honest people and Fettis admiited that he should have saved it. Heés picked up a knock on his ankle, so weéll see whether or not he is fit to play tonight.

"I havenét made a decision about the weekend, but weére lucky to have a good back-up keeper in Steve Wilson. Heés probably a little bit unlucky not to be in the side."

The Silkmen have slipped to eighth position in League Two, four points off the automatic promotion spots, and Horton said the next few results would be crucial.

"Ités a difficult trip on Saturday, but weéve averaged a point each game away from home this season and should probably have done better."
