KEITH Alexander has added a striker to his ranks with the loan signing of Craig Lindfield.

The 21-year-old former Liverpool academy product has had loan spells at Accrington Stanley, Bournemouth, Chester City and Notts County.

Lindfield won two FA Youth Cups while with Liverpool but became a free agent after his loan spell with Stanley ended in the summer.

"I’m pleased to have been offered a chance here at Macclesfield," Lindfield told Macc’s official site. "I’ve been with the club for about two weeks now in training, but the reserve game I was set to play in was cancelled. I’ve been working hard and it’s obviously paid off, so I’ve got this chance. As long as I work hard in training and show what I can do when I get a chance, then I’m sure I’ll be able to do well for the club."

Lindfield was to have been availabe for the Boxing Day trip to Shrewsbury but, as Alexander explained: "We had some problems with the paperwork. The people at the club were in and got his signature on Christmas Eve, we got the full approval of the Football League and FA but, because his last club was Liverpool, the league also needed to get clearance from the Premier League. But the Premier League people went home for Christmas early so they couldn’t get the fax through."
