There were no away day blues in the First Division of the East Cheshire League as the four visiting teams notched more than 30 goals on Saturday.

Jamie Collins netted a first-half hat-trick and added two more goals to his tally in the second half as Club AZ put last week’s defeat to FC Flyers behind them by smashing bottom-of-the-table Poynton Village 10-0.

New signings Henry Badoo and Paul Chamberlain impressed manager Neil

Gibbons as they both scored, along with Ryan Stewart and Gareth Gibbons, as AZ went three points clear at the top.

FC Flyers’ strike force seems unstoppable at the moment as they continue to roll over the strongest sides in the league, this week they beat High Lane 6-2.

Scott MacGowan added three more to his total for the season for third-placed Flyers, who have now won four out of four, while Ant Cooke, Danny Cooke and Anthony Hampson completed the scoring. James Williamson and Dave Wilde with a penalty replied for High Lane.

Mike Hooley scored four for second-placed Cheadle Hulme as they over-ran Old Alts East at Crossford Bridge 7-1.

Mark Alcock added a brace and Jon O’Brien one.

It was 7-1 to the visitors too at Mary Dendy Fields as Poynton Nomads took advantage of some charitable defending by Paul Cronshaw’s Mary Dendy team.

Matt Morris gave Dendy the lead on seven minutes, steering the ball past Jack Gaskell after a fine pass from Gareth Worrall.

Anthony Mape equalised almost immediately and Andy Kershaw soon had the visitors in front as he placed the ball low into the bottom corner.

As the drizzle persisted, so did Dendy’s errors as Stuart Johnstone nipped in to intercept a telegraphed back pass to make it 3-1.

Minutes later it was 4-1, centre half Dan Allman firing home a penalty after Adam Taylor had nudged Alan Hay in the penalty area.

Marc Toomey jinked along the dead ball line to somehow fire past Matt Robinson at his near post for number five early in the second half, and the goal of the game came after the introduction of Nish Joshi as a substitute.

James Bailey scored his first competitive goal in nine years as he volley in Joshi’s inviting cross-field pass, and Joshi claimed his second assist as he set up Mark Carter for number seven.
