Macc Town captain Paul Turnbull is aiming for a novel hat-trick this May to raise money for charityand he’s asking for the backing of the Silkmen’s loyal supporters.

‘Bully’ will be packing away his shooting boots in favour of golf shoes to tackled a gruelling three-course marathon on May 29, in aid of Cancer Research.

His challenge is to get round 18,273 yards by completing 18 holes at Tytherington, Macclesfield and Alderley Edge golf clubs

He’s hoping his 54-hole challenge will go a fairway to helping such a worthy cause.

“All proceeds are going to charity to raise as much as possible for Cancer Research,” said the midfielder.

“A lot of people I know have been affected in some way through cancer, including my family, therefore every donation – no matter how big or small – goes to making a huge difference to saving peoples’ lives.

“We are very grateful for all your support.”

Donations are being collected at the Railway Pub, Handforth and those looking to donate online can do so at www.justgiving.com/challenge54/
