Macc Town suffered a repeat defeat, losing their second straight Cheshire FA Premier Cup final in extra time.

Gary Simpson’s Silkmen team travelled to holders Crewe Alexandra for the final last Tuesday evening and the team that triumphed 3-1 after an extra half hour in the 2009 clash at Macc did it again, Shaun Miller their two-goal hero this year.

Miller opened the scoring from a free-kick with little more than 20 minutes remaining, but Craig Lindfield knocked in an equaliser from close range to send the final to extra time.

Former Crewe players Lee Bell and Colin Daniel, and up-and-coming stars Kris Dennis and Vinny Mukendi, had all come close to a goal for Macc in normal time, but once Miller netted with 10 minutes left on the clock, there was no way back for the Silkmen and Crewe held on to retain the trophy.
