MACCLESFIELD goalkeeper Jonathan Brain was rushed for immediate surgery after medics could find no pulse in his leg following his horror collision with team-mate Andrew Teague.

Brain suffered a compound fracture during the game against Stockport County on Saturday which saw three Macc players stretchered off with serious injuries.

Both Brain and Teague suffered broken legs in the accidental clash, while Simon Wiles suffered a suspected ruptured cruciate ligament following a challenge in the first half.

Assistant manager Ray Mathias said the mood in the dressing room was downbeat.

"The injuries have soured everything, when it looked for a time like we could have grabbed a convincing win.

"We battled well and look to have grown in confidence from the win at Walsall.

"The physio could find no pulse in Jonny Brainés leg and he was rushed to hospital. Teaguey also suffered a broken leg and we think ités a cruciate injury for Wiles. In all my years in football Iéve never experienced a match where three members of the same team are stretchered off. Ités unbelievable."
