AFTER a thrilling 3-3 draw last week, AC Bollan and Railway View conjured up yet another goal-fest.

Despite plenty of chances for both sides the first half surprisingly ended 1-1 but in the second half the floodgates opened. Les Sykes scored a remarkable goal from just inside his own half to give Bollan the lead but Railway recovered to lead 3-2 with 10 minutes left.

Stuart Ainsworth scored twice and Chris Coxan adding a third. John Williams levelled the match at 3-3 before Tim Hammond notched his 19th goal of the season in all competitions to give Bollan the three points.

Another super game was served up by Ox-fford and Brewers, the latter Brewers edging it 5-4 to leapfrog Three Crowns to the top of the table.

In blustery conditions at Congleton Road, Ox-fford stormed into a 3-2 lead at half-time but, with the wind in the second half, Brewers took full advantage. Carl McCurrie hit a hat-trick for the home side making it nine in the league this season and Jordan Lee added a fourth. For Brewers, Ashley Flood and Jamie Madden both scored twice with Martin Firth grabbing his 10th of the season.

When Pack Horse and Three Crowns last met, they couldn’t be separated but their rematch ended in a 6-1 win for Pack Horse.

Striker Harry Wheatman, who missed the previous encounter, made the difference, scoring four times with Craig Scott and Martin Quigley also on target for the league champions.

Pack Horse remain in fourth place, three points behind Brewers but with two games in hand. Three Crowns drop to third.

In two games against Macc Boys Seniors, Vale have conceded 11 goals, scoring just two.

On a cold wet morning at Back Lane the visiting Seniors got off to a flyer with Eddie Roberts scoring barely a minute in.

Chris Coppenhall made it two with his sixth league goal of the season before a spectacular effort from outside the box got Vale back in the game.

Simon Gibbons scored twice in the second half and Roberts completed his hat-trick. Vale pulled a goal back but they simply ran of steam.

The two best teams in the First Division, Albion Rovers and Boarhound, met at Victoria Park in an eagerly anticipated encounter, billed as the potential championship decider.

A thrilling game, despite the conditions,saw some flowing football, unwavering commitment and seven goals.

Two Boarhound goals came in two first-half minutes, a stunner from Andy Shard and Decland Fletcher’s tap-in stunning the league leaders as they trailed 2-0.

The second half was a different encounter as Boarhound sat back and let Albion back in the came. Gareth Gibbons was hauled down four minutes in and he got up and confidently despatched the penalty to make it 2-1.

Craig Hayes restored the two-goal lead but, barely a minute later, referee Neil Johnson awarded Rovers a second penalty as Gibbons was again brought down in the area. This time Gibbons’ spot-kick was well saved, although Jamie Collins reacted first to knock in the rebound, his 32nd in all competitions.

Neil Smith smashed home an equaliser from close range before Gibbons hit a fourth with 15 minutes remaining.

Steve Walker’s team must surely have one hand on the First Division title after making it 13 wins from 13 in the league this season, Boarhound look likely to join them in the Premier Division.

Macc Tigers must have wished their game at Baths could have ended at half time when they only trailed 1-0. The second half proved one-way traffic as Baths scored five times.

Lewis Peterson claimed his fourth goal of the season for the Tigers but Baths’ Dan Needham and Craig Poyser both scored twice, with Anthony Byrne and Rob Ainsworth also on target.

Hollins consolidated fourth place with a comfortable 5-2 victory at home to Sporting Kerridge at Mary Dendy Fields.

In an even first half the scored a goal each but in the second half Hollins took charge.

Matt Beswick scored twice and there were further goals from Gareth Burns, John Browning and Roy Rostrum. For Sporting the goals came from Simon Williams and Luke Williams.

Tytherington Juniors had a morle-boosting 5-0 win over Chain and Gate.

Ryan Walker and James Moon scored two each with a fifth coming from David Scott.
