RETURNING hero Mark Bailey believes Macc Town can still win the League.

The Silkmen defender grabbed a controversial last-gasp equaliser against Boston on Monday.

Bailey was making his first start since in five months after missing most of the season with an ankle injury.

And now the 28-year-old has backed his team-mates to put a disappointing Easter behind them and gain automatic promotion.

éWe can still get the top spot,é said Bailey, who last started a game against Cambridge on October 19. éAnd if not top, then we need to aim for automatic promotion.

éWeére in a great position but we just need to keep going.é

Baileyés 84th-minute header appeared to have been cleared off the line by Bostonés Simon Rusk. But after consultation with his assistant, referee Carl Boyeson awarded the goal.

éIt was definitely in,é added Bailey.

éObviously you want to win your home games but the important thing at this stage of the season is to pick up points, whether thatés three or just one.

éWeéve got a lot of experience and hopefully it will start to tell at this stage of the season.é

The former Lincoln City player has been amazed by the Cheshire club change in fortunes.

He added: éIf you look where the club were just last season and where we are now - ités an amazing achievement."

And Bailey is just happy to be playing again after complications with the operation.

éTheyére behind me now and ités a great time to be back and pushing for promotion,é he said.
