King's Junior Division’s young football star Alex Denny has been rubbing shoulders with the best young players in Europe.

Alex, 11, is a tough tackling playmaker in the Everton under-11 Academy.

This summer he has already played in tournaments in Spain and France, facing youngsters from some of the great names of the sport including Real Madrid, Ajax and Shalke.

Alex said: "It’s really good to line up against young foreign players who are play in a different style to the English game.

"You can learn so much by playing against them, watching their games and talking afterwards."

Both an Everton and a Manchester City fan, Alex – who cites Jack Rodwell as his favourite player –added: "I just want to be as good a player as possible and go as far in the game as I can.

"However, I know there will be a lot of competition ahead and my education is the most important thing."

King’s Junior Division football coach Mike Walton said: "Alex is very talented young player who is being groomed by some of the top coaches in Britain and everyone at King’s will be closely following his progress."
