MACCLESFIELD'S football league survival bid will go to the final day for the second year running after Accrington secured their safety in a nail biting six pointer.

Two goals from Andrew Procter secured the victory for John Coleman's side in a see-saw match.

Paul Mullin had already hit the crossbar when Stanley went ahead in the 11th minute, with centre back Robbie Williams glancing Sean Doherty's corner at the near post.

Macclesfield equalised on the half hour mark when the home side failed to clear Kevin McIntyre's free kick and John Miles drove the ball across the face of the goal and into the far corner.

Miles was on target again in the 36th minute, finishing off a flowing move which saw him play one-two's with Matt McNeil and Rob Scott before drilling in his second.

But Accrington equalised right on half time, when Procter headed in at the far post from a Shaun Whalley corner.

And Procter scored the winner three minutes into the second half with a 25 yard curling shot into the top corner.
