ONLY four games escaped the winter weather this weekend but they certainly provided plenty of goal mouth action.

Bollington Athletic moved into fifth place with a 3-1 win at home to Nelson while Club AZ hit five against Old Alts Vets. Poynton ran out 5-4 winners away to Poynton Nomads 'B' at Deva Close and Juno gained maximum points away at Mary Dendy.

Bollington Athletic 3 Nelson 1: AN excellent defensive display from Nelson who kept Bolly at bay for 35 minutes in the mud at Bollington Cross before captain Emlyn Hughes went clear and hooked the ball over the advancing keeper to make it 1-0 to the home side. Chris Wearing made it 2-0 on 57 minutes and Pete Eccles crashed home from the edge of the penalty area to make it 3-0. Nelson had few chances but deserved their goal on 82 minutes when Oscar Okpoti curled a shot past Bolly's keeper

Mary Dendy 1 Juno United 3: JUNO took a first half lead through a Dave Westwood penalty but Dendy soon cancelled their advantage with a counter attack superbly finished by Will Tolley. The rest of the action took place in a frantic last five minutes as Dendy conceded twice in muddy goal mouth scrambles. Sam Woodward stabbed home before Dendy gifted Juno a third with an own goal.

Club AZ 5 Old Alts Vets 3: SIMON Richards scored a 30-yard thunderbolt for AZ as they picked up a vital three points against the Vets at Mulberry's Sports Centre. In an excellent match Will Beighton grabbed two and Ian Nab and Simon Richards with his second completed the scoring for AZ. Ian Hunt hit a brace for the Vets with Kenny McCallum adding a third.

Poynton Nomads B 4 Poynton 5: AN action-packed first half saw Poynton take a 4-1 lead but also lose two players to red cards. Nomads made a second half comeback against nine-man Poynton but despite goals from Mike Jarvis, Danny Dewar and one each from new signings Matt Phillips and Gary Barton they couldn't quite get back on level terms. Poynton's goals came from a Gary Foulkes hat-trick, his second in a row, Chris Oake and Chris Hennessey.
