Dennis at the double but Reed rues the weather

KRIS Dennis was on target in one of the few games to go ahead at the weekend.

The Macc striker is enjoying his loan spell at Woodley Sports and bagged a brace against Wakefield on Saturday.

Dennis, who recently extended his loan spell at Lambeth Grove, hit two in the first half to help the Steelmen to a 3-1 victory in the UniBond League’s First Division North.

He did have a chance to complete his hat-trick with a penalty but his spot-kick was saved by Wakefield keeper Jan Zolna.

Meanwhile, another Silkman out on loan, Stephen Reed, was left kicking his heels as the cold snap left Weymouth inactive.

The Terras’ game with Braintree fell foul of the weather and Reed, who was looking to get his month-long loan spell off to a good start, was left disappointed.

He played for Weymouth last season and his form was impressive enough to earn a move to Macclesfield.

However, the defender (right) has been unable to gain a place in Keith Alexander’s side due to the form of Carl Tremarco and Colin Daniel and spent a month on loan at Gray’s Athletic.
