Wilmslow Wayfarers suffered a comfortable defeat at home to Wilmslow – the first at home in the league for Wayfarers in nearly two years.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Wayfarers scored a below-par 192-9 off their allotted overs. Joey Unsworth (27) and Luke Unsworth (25) got the home side off to a solid start.

However, no-one could support Bobby Hassard (56) sufficiently to enable Wayfarers to post a total over 200. For the visitors, Ross Kinnerley’s 3-75 were the best figures.

In response, Kinnerley made it two hundreds in the season against Wayfarers as he blasted 100 off just 82 balls with some impressive hitting against some unusually loose bowling. Elliot Rowe (34) gave him the requisite support for Wilmslow to coast to the target.

Rob Herriot (26 not out) hit a four to complete the six-wicket victory for Wilmslow.

Wayfarers seconds completed a dominant victory at Wilmslow. The hosts elected to bat first and were shot out for just 56 with only Tim Conniff (25) troubling the scorers. Billy Hussain and Usman Waheed both bagged four, as they proved too good for Wilmslow on the day.

Despite losing Javinda Crotch early, Richard Branagan (16 not out) and Khatteer Zeb (20 not out) sealed the nine-wicket win for Wayfarers.
