Wilmslow Wayfarers continued their ascent up the table with a convincing win over Didsbury.

Batting first, Wayfarers declared on 186-8 before reducing the home side to 28-7 and eventually bowling them out for 81.

It was James McIntyre (12) and Joey Unsworth (58) that got Wayfarers off to a good start.

However, Didsbury struck back with wickets reducing Wayfarers to 104-5. But Robbie Hassard (29 not out) batted through, aided by cameos from Luke Unsworth (13) and Martin Wright (22).

The Didsbury response started poorly as Ant Mape swung his way to four wickets and the home side were reeling at 23-4.

Things were to get worse for Didsbury as Neil Shirley took a superb hat-trick with some fine fast bowling, proving too quick for the batsmen.

At 28-7, the game was over as a contest, and Didsbury finally succumbed to 81 all out.

For Wayfarers, Mape (4-27) and Shirley (4-22) were the star contributors in a win which sees them move into second spot in the table.
