Bollington’s unbeaten run stretched into a 10th match in all competitions as they thrashed local rivals Poynton by eight wickets at London Road.

After winning the toss Bolly skipper Matt Dawson elected to bowl first, only the ever reliable Paul Gould and Brian Kingham from the Poynton batsmen looked remotely comfortable scoring 25 and 20 respectively as the bowling quintet tore through the Poynton line-up.

Aldo Palazzo was the star man with an incredible 5-4. He was backed up by Mo Jahangir (2-25), Stuart Plant (1-16), Dawson (1-20) and Mo Ali (1-22) as the home side capitulated to just 88 all out.

In reply Bolly got off to a flyer, putting on 52 for the first wicket as Calum Rowe smashed a run-a-ball 40 before being bowled by Jon Hadley. Tom Gower joined Ged McKernan and playing an important anchor role. Gower scored a quickfire 18 but was bowled with the score on 72. It was left to McKernan (18 not out) and Tom Groth (seven not out) to take Bolly home for the loss of two wickets to grab 20 points.

Bolly welcome table toppers Marple to The Rec on Saturday knowing victory could propel them into the promotion race.

On Sunday they also take their place in the prestigous Twenty20 finals day at Warrington Cricket Club when they take on Oxton in the Cheshire T20 Plate Final (3pm start).
