Better batting leads to Pott win

Pott Shrigley 179-6, Lindow 150ao (Pott Shrigley won by 29 runs) - POTT Shrigley put in a much improved batting performance to beat Lindow.

On a lively looking track Pott were asked to bat first by the Lindow captain.

After the previous week’s disappointment with the bat the Shrigley team required a platform and openers Jamie Hart and Warren Barlow duly delivered.

It was not until the 19th over that Barlow was out for a stylish 32.

Hart fell in the next over and two more swift wickets looked to scupper their plans before Steve Barlow and Dom Bull took the game to the consistent Lindow bowlers.

Big hitting from Barlow resulted in a quick fire 37 and then Bull was ably supported by number eight Alistair Brett, taking the score to 179 off the allotted 45 overs with Bull finishing on an excellent 44 not out.

Alex Jackson made an early breakthrough with the ball, David Powell taking a fine catch in the third over.

The next two Lindow batsmen pushed the score on before Matthew Jackson and keeper Dom Lisle combined.

With Lindow in a strong position, strike bowler Alex Jackson removed Hume and new batsmen George Formen in the same over and, bowling in tandem with brother Matthew, annihilated the middle order and tail.

With five wickets each, the Jacksons bowled Lindow out for 150.
