Prestbury took maximum points from their match at Northwich, winning by 76 runs. The visitors batted first and put on 207-7 at the declaration.

In response, Northwich were skittled out for 131 as Prestbury, fifth in the Meller Braggins League Division One, clocked up their fourth victory of the season.

In Division Three, Pott Shrigley were unlucky to only come away with a draw against Chester County Officers on Saturday.

Batting first, Shrigley racked up an impressive 230-6 off their 45 overs with Jamie Hart contributing 82 and the in-form Sam Cleaver a belligerent 60 off only 30 balls.

In reply second-placed Chester reached 177-6 with the Shrigley attack never really having the incisiveness to bowl their opponents out.

Alex Jackson and Warren Barlow picked up two wickets apiece as Pott took 15 points from the match.

Shrigley progressed to the second round of the Twenty20 cup on Thursday evening with an impressive victory over Second Division Lindow.

Shrigley bowled first and restricted their opponents to 139 off their 20 overs with spin twins Kyle Paterson and Matt Jackson taking combined figures of 3-30 from their eight overs.

In reply Paterson (49) and Hart (60 not out) reached the target in 13 overs as Shrigley finished on 141-1.

In Prestbury third XI’s game against Hyde fourths they batted and made 73 all out, James Montgomery taking a career-best 4-5. Prestbury made hard work of their reply, but reached 74 for the loss of seevn wickets.

Akbar Vohra hit 27 not out on the way to victory.
