Wilmslow Wayfarers hosted old friends Audlem in a ‘must win’ game if the Styal men wanted to maintain their ambitions.

They did this in emphatic style, having reduced Audlem to less than a run per over for the first 30 overs, the visitors eventually being bowled out for just 67.

Wayfarers’ main threats came from pacemen Baldwin and Mape. Baldwin finished with 3-26 and Mape took 3-36.

Smith and Unsworth accounted for the other wickets to fall.

The reply was swift, with openers Unsworth and Clinch getting Wayfarers off to a strong start and, although Unsworth departed for 39 from 33 balls, Wright and Clinch saw the Wilmslow side to victory with eight wickets in hand.

Next week Wayfarers travel to Knutsford.
