THE Right Move Abroad Cheshire County Cricket League begins this weekend, with a host of new faces joining the existing local stars.

Promoted Macclesfield, who are soon to leave Victoria Road for a new ground, are again led by captain Barney Cutbill.

Macc welcome Melbourne top-order batsman and spinner Nathan Allen and former Nantwich all-rounder Rob Porter as they look to make the step up to the Premier League. Their campaign starts at Neston.

In Division One, Bollington welcome back Pakistani bowler Mo Ali as they look to improve on fifth place last season. This week they host Warrington.

Meanwhile, Poynton have made three acquisitions.

Nafees Din has made a number of big scores for the county and during his time at Sale and Mobberley. Another new batsman, signed in an attempt to combat last season’s run shortage, is Paul Slattery.

Poynton also have Barbadian Derwin Thompson returning to London Road North.

Thompson, who scored almost 4,000 runs and has 100 wickets to his name during his previous five-year Poynton stint, replaces Antonio Mayers as their overseas player. Poynton take on Christleton on Saturday.

In the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League, relegated Prestbury face Alderley Park, and Pott Shrigley host Castrol.

In the Cheshire Cricket Alliance, Kerridge play host to Eastham and Langley face Glazebury at home.
