Wilmslow Wayfarers completed a comprehensive victory at Saughall last weekend.

The visitors elected to bat and were soon in trouble as Luke Unsworth (3-17) and Ant Mape (1-22) struck some early blows.

Salisbury (28) tried to stop the rot for the home side, but change bowlers Andrew Bruce (3-20) and Michael Smith (3-5) blew away the tail as Saughall succumbed to just 68 all out.

Wayfarers’ response was emphatic as Thomas Matthews hit a careful 43 not out to seal the visitors’ nine-wicket victory.

Wayfarers’ seconds piled on the runs against Mellor on a perfect wicket for batting.

Richard Caulfield and Usman Waheed both hit 50s as Wayfarers posted 249-7 declared.

However, the wicket proved too good as the visitors coasted to 194-5 off their 44 overs.

In the end, a draw was a fair result and Wayfarers remain third in the table.
