Spectacular showcase returns

MACCLESFIELD Boys Boxing Club’s annual showcase takes place next weekend, with a host of exciting bouts lined up.

In a fantastic night of amateur boxing, the club’s top young talents will be showing their skills at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, in an unmissable night for fight fans.

Head coach Kevin Bradbury aims to have a dozen bouts taking place on Friday, February 1, and relative newcomers such as Josh Hughes, George Parish and Danny Corke will be in action.

Also stepping between the ropes will be local favourites, including North West champion Liam Hanrahan, Pete Bebbington, Michael Fitzpatrick, Sam Bradbury, Joe Collins, Josh Spence, Ben Cranshaw, Jonathan Thomson, Kieran Davies and many more.

Watching the stars of tomorrow at ringside will be MBBC’s honorary president, super-featherweight professional Steve Bell.

Also pitting their wits on the night will be up and coming professionals from the camp of former WBU middleweight champion Anthony Farnell, another regular visitor to the club.

This is the fourth annual showcase for the club, and its popularity is growing each year.

Last year’s event attracted a bumper crowd in excess of 700 spectators, so to avoid disappointment, get your tickets, priced at £8, from the Macclesfield or Wilmslow information centres (01625 522275 or 504114).
