Bollington Athletic 3
Offerton Villa 2

(after extra time)

DISTRICT FA Saturday Cup holders Bollington Athletic required extra time before they saw off Offerton Villa and booked their place in the final against Poynton FC.

Having missed some good chances, Bollington were made to pay as Offerton took the lead from a penalty kick through Neil Fisher.

However, Athletic fought back to take the lead through a brace from Jono Campbell before Villa levelled proceedings in normal time as Fisher scored his second.

Extra time saw both teams spurn opportunities to take the lead before the winner eventually came in the final few minutes when substitute Andy Atkinson netted a free-kick.

Although disappointed to have lost, Offerton could be well pleased with their performance as they gave the much-fancied Bollington side a run for their money.

Fisher and Chris Pickering were their best two players, while Campbell, Martin Firth and Euan Stubbs were Bollington's stand-out players.

The date and venue for the final is yet to be arranged.

Spinners Arms are this year's District FA Sunday Cup winners after they overcame Pack Horse 1-0.

Although defences dominated proceedings, both keepers were ceratinly kept busy.

Andrew Forbes and Paul Chamberlain shone for the Spinners, but it was skipper Rick Mottershead who slotted home the only goal of the contest.

Pack Horse's forwards let them down as Jason Knight and Martin Firth stood out for them.
