CYCLING: Colin Fenwick notched up his third road race win of the season in the 50 mile Wrekin Road Race near Bridgnorth.

With 10 miles to go, Colin and another rider escaped from the bunch before Colin outsprinted his rival to take promotion to BCF second category status.

Dave Werrell found himself in an identical position in the Elswick LVRC Road Race for riders aged 40-49.

Team mate Mick O'Connor finished seconds later to claim another top ten placing.

The AE Rigby trophy in memory of a much respected past Wheelers Club president is awarded for the fastest time clocked each year over the 112 miles from Macclesfield Post Office to Shrewsbury Post Office and back.

The next club committee meeting is on October 15, 7.30pm at the Boarhound, Brook Street.

Meanwhile, club rides start from the Fermain Club at 1pm on Saturday, heading to Middlewich on the road and Hayfield off-road. Sunday 9am sees the road riders heading for Monyash.
