ATHLETICS: FORMER Great Britain athlete Beth Allott is a woman with a mission to make the men and women of Macclesfield fit for life.

The 30-year-old former road running star is using her years of education and expertise to start a revolutionary new personal fitness programme.

After graduating from the national centre of excellence at Loughborough, Beth, from Barrack's Square, spent three years in the British team.

She qualified for the European and Commonwealth Games, only for a succession of injuries to force an early retirement.

Now she has set up her own business to pass on the benefits of her years of devotion.

She said: "People should try to build exercise and good nutrition into their lifestyles.

"Physical well-being makes you healthier, fitter and stronger and happier too."

Beth says the key to her work is to listen to each individual's needs to deliver a tailor-made programme that encompasses technical guidance, motivation and nutrition.

"Many people who want to get into shape simply don't know what they are doing and waste what may be precious hours, huffing and puffing but to little effect on their personal goals. What's worse, when they see nothing changing they give up and waste all those great intentions."

She added: "However, with the right technical coaching, guidance and encouragement, they can adopt a healthier lifestyle which will serve them for a longer and happier life."

Beth's programme covers a range of resistance and aerobic exercises, either at clients' homes or at Club Energie in Wilmslow.

She works with men and women of all ages whether elite athletes or beginners or those with specific needs such as combating obesity, back problems or problems associated with the menopause.
