1. Why no business to discuss?

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 26 November 2008
MACCLESFIELD Borough Council appear to have lapsed into a coma, cancelling their November meeting claiming they have "no business to discuss".

2. Town centre is dying from neglect, yet council does nothing

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 19 November 2008
I DON'T usually quote rival newspapers, but the headline on the front page of this week’s Leek Post reads: ‘Free Parking U-turn in bid to help boost town’s trade’.

3. When will they get the message over tiresome telephone systems?

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 12 November 2008
OK, HANDS up all those who like calling automated phone systems. You know – your call is important to us but not important enough to actually answer; you’re being recorded for training purposes; you have four options; say ‘yes’ if you’re still conscious, sorry we didn’t hear that; sorry all our agents are busy. That kind of stuff.

4. Firefighters earn respect

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 12 November 2008
I HAVE received a glossy eight-page annual report from Cheshire Fire Service which, as far as I’m concerned, is totally unnecessary.

5. Wrong time to blitz streets with traffic wardens

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 5 November 2008

6. Tough on the weak

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 22 October 2008
ACCORDING to Macclesfield borough councillors they were forced to approve the new Tesco roundabout on the Silk Road, despite branding it "crackers".

7. Fuel for thought

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 15 October 2008
I'M NOT surprised drivers are fuming over the price of fuel in Macclesfield. Apart from motorways and remote rural filling stations, they are some of the most expensive in the county.

8. Education authority could try harder

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 15 October 2008
HERE we go again. Insufficient places for Wilmslow children who, surprise, surprise, want to attend Wilmslow High School. Apparently this year is expected to be worse than last with a record number of pupils forced to travel to Poynton, Macclesfield, Northwich or Winsford.

9. Parking MBC style

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 15 October 2008
GIVEN the public posturing of Macclesfield Borough Council on illegal parking, and the predilection of MBC traffic wardens for dishing out parking tickets for the heinous offence of straying outside one’s allotted parking bay, I thought you may like to see how MBC park their own vehicles.

10. Pensioners' plight has made me 'Angry of Macclesfield'

Macclesfield Express, Wednesday 8 October 2008
THIS week I'm ‘Angry of Macclesfield’. Angry that elderly people must face the oncoming winter unable to pay their spiralling bills. Age Concern are worried about pensioners forced to make the choice between heating or eating as energy, water and food bills rocket.
