Firefighters were called to a fire in an underpass which they say they believe was started deliberately.
The incident happened just after at 8am on Sunday on Sunderland Street in Macclesfield.
A spokesman from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A small deliberate fire involving newspapers was extinguished with water by firefighters.”
