A woman had to be cut free from her car after she was involved in a road accident.
The air ambulance attended after a saloon car she was travelling in was involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle on London Road North in Poynton.
The road was closed by the police while the emergency services dealt with the incident, which occurred just before midday today (December 3).
After the woman was cut free by firefighters she and an injured male were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Both were taken to hospital, one of them by helicopter. It is not yet known how seriously they were injured.
