A webcam at the country’s highest village captured a snow storm on Easter Monday.

The picture was taken at 9am on Monday after snow fell on the back of stormy conditions around the country brought by Storm Katie.

Colin Townend sent in the picture to the Express.

He helps to run the webcam which took the picture at Flash Bar Village Stores, which is a cafe and shop at the village which is the highest in the country.

Flash Bar Stores takes its name from the tollhouse built there in 1771 still exists today. A tollgate, or toll bar, was in operation on the site of the road that ran from Macclesfield to Longnor via Three Shires head, which dissects the current A53.

This webcam helps bikers and drivers to see the conditions on the high ground before setting off.

Colin said: “The picture was taken by the Flash Bar Village Stores webcam which I operate in conjunction with the Stores proprietor Lynsay Speed.

“At the same time the Cat and Fiddle webcam was completely obliterated by snow on the pub’s windows.”
