A teenage petrolhead who films supercars is dreaming his hobby will one day pay for one of his own.
William Kemp, 15, spends weekends waiting at the roadside for a glimpse of some of the world’s rarest and most expensive vehicles.
The videos on his YouTube channel have clocked up thousands of views and earns him advertising revenue.
William, of Bollington Road, Bollington, is now hoping to cash in one his growing audience to buy his very own supercar.
But if that doesn’t work, then William has plans to become a design engineer and create his own.
William’s interest in cars started two years ago when he spotted a Top Gear magazine.
He said: “I was immediately hooked on supercars and started to go out to see them around Cheshire in millionaire hotspots like Alderley Edge and Knutsford. Mum would drop me off and pick me up hours later. I’ve seen footballers like Di Maria and Aguero in their cars. Sometimes I come home with some footage, other times I don’t. It is the luck of the draw.”
William is guaranteed to spot these dream motors when he travels home and abroad to motorshows. It was on a trip to Monaco that he spied a W Motors Lykan Hypersport worth an eye-watering £3.6m. His video of that car has been viewed 42,000 times on YouTube.
William, a pupil at King’s School, said other supercar fans have been able to earn big money in advertising revenue to buy their own dream cars.
At the moment he earns about £60 from his WH Automotive YouTube channel.
The three cars William’s would love to own are the Porsche Cayman GT4, valued at £42k, the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta worth £300k or the Peganni which clocks in at a cool £3m.
There is also the hurdle of the lack of a driving licence, but William hopes to start learning when he turns 17, albeit in a rather modest Fiat 500.
William said: “Some people made some money, so I might one day be able to afford one of my dream cars. If I can’t, then I’ll work hard at school and become a design engineer.I have seen every model of supercar there is and the beauty of supercars is that there are always new models coming out. What I do is not like train or plane spotting. Friends at school think it’s pretty cool and ask me questions about it.”
