A specialist underwater police team was called in to remove a body from a house.

The underwater search and marine unit attended Brook Street, Macclesfield on Saturday afternoon after the death of a 34-year-old man. It is believed the body had been undiscovered for some time. Protective diving gear was used to allow the officers to enter the property safely and remove the body.

A police spokesman said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file is being prepared for the coroner.”
