An internet fraudster who duped his victims out of £9,000 has been jailed.

Andrew Bondswell, 51, of Tynedale Close, Macclesfield, was sentenced to 21 months at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to 10 offences of fraud.

He committed his crimes during 2014 and 2015, using the internet to fraudulently advertise property for rent as well as mobile telephones and computers for sale.

The victims – from Cheshire, London, Grimsby and the Isle of Man – each reported that they had ordered goods but had received nothing.

It is the second time Bondswell well has been jailed for dishonesty.

In 2012 Bondswell, was sentenced to 12 months after pleading guilty to four counts of theft where he stole £10,000 from his victims and spent it.

DC Gerard Appleton, of Cheshire Police’s Economic Crime Unit, said: “The victims of his crimes were located throughout the UK.

“The loss of around £9,000 has had a significant negative impact on the victim’s lives.

“I hope it is of some comfort to them knowing he has been taken off the streets and can cause no further harm to the community.”
