An extra chance to make fears known

RESIDENTS are being offered an extra chance to air their views on two current healthcare consultations.

Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust has arranged an additional public meeting to discuss proposed changes to local health services.

The public consultation period for the Making It Better, Making It Real review has been extended until May 12, and as a result of this extension the PCT is holding an extra public meeting at Macclesfield Town Hall on Tuesday, April 11, at 6.30pm.

Making It Better is asking for local community views on how to shape future services for children, young people, parents and babies.

The audience will also have the opportunity to air their views on the Future Healthcare in Eastern Cheshire public consultation.

This separate exercise, running alongside Making It Better, aims to ensure local NHS services in East Cheshire can continue to provide high quality services that are safe, practical and affordable and is consulting on three options for change.

Gary Raphael, acting chief executive of the PCT, said: "I would warmly welcome everyone to this meeting. Every resident of East Cheshire has a stake in the future of health service provision for the area, and their views can really make a difference as to how those services are provided in the future.

"We have been pleased with the interest shown by the local community for both these reviews, and it is reassuring that everyone understands the importance of what we are aiming to achieve."
