Macclesfield Expats

13/ 6/2005

ARE you a former resident of Macclesfield who has moved abroad and who wants to get back in touch with people still living in the town? Do you know of friends or family who have moved overseas and you want to try and track them down? Well here's your chance ...

In this new section, we're giving an opportunity for people who were parted when locals decided to make new lives overseas to make contact once again.

If you are an ex-pat, who wants to know the whereabouts of a pal or relative, send us the details and we'll post them up here. The same is true of locals - let us know if you want to get back in touch with a local who has left these shores. You never know - they might just visit this site, read your message and you could be reunited.

Alternatively, ex-pats can write to us simply if they want to let the folks back home know what they've been up to, how life overseas is treating them, and what they miss about Macclesfield.

All you have to do to take advantage of this service is to write to us by clicking on the link below, making sure you include your name, contact details, e-mail address and current whereabouts, and we'll post the messages up on this section.

Click on the 'Submit comments' link below to send in your entry, or click on 'View comments' to see the entries received so far.

(All messages will be moderated before inclusion on the site, and the editor reserves the right to edit messages where necessary)

   Hi

I wrote on March 30, regarding my husband's birth at St Mary's hospital, Prestbury Road. Have now found out this was most probably St Mary's Hospital, Prestbury, which was an annexe of St Mary's Hospital in Manchester. Does anyone who was around the Prestbury area in 1946, remember this hospital, was probably a large house, rather than a purpose built site.

Thanks in advance - mariepedlar@talktalk.net
