Feel sheepish? Join the flock

BAA-RMY couple Rachel Gorrod and Arran Maclean would like to send their friends Christmas bleatings.

So they have designed a calendar solely devoted to sheep.

Now the partners are hoping that others will flock to buy "Garf's Sheep Emporium" - a year's account of fleecy cartoon characters.

"There is a website giving people the opportunity to adopt sheep who get a name and a certificate.

"Over the past few years about 10,000 sheep have been adopted by people all over the world," said Rachel, 28.

"Ours is a fun project based on that."

And Rachel and Arran who live on the Bird Estate in Poynton have just the right pedigrees for the job. She is an accountant and he is a website designer.

And between them they hope to make a mint-sauce out of this project. "This is just the beginning," said Rachel.

"We hope to follow up with some thin glossy books."
