CELEBRITIES are offering food for thought in a book compiled by three friends in aid of charity.

Prestbury mum Carole Geary and two of her pals Judy Bailey and Millie Llewellyn are behind its publication.

Almost 100 stars, the rich and the famous, have contributed to a new cook book "Posh Nosh", which will raise money for Francis House Children's Hospice.

It includes favourites from former Tatton MP Martin Bell to controversial Harrod's boss Mahammed Al Fayed and Spice Girl Emma Bunton to former PM Maggie Thatcher.

"Posh Nosh", endorsed by top chef Raymond Blanc, is heading for the book shops in time for Christmas and promises to be a best seller.

All the proceeds will be donated to the hospice - which offers help and respite care to children with a short life expectancy - as part of its tenth anniversary appeal.

Judy, 42, said: "It was a flash of inspiration. The response was overwhelming from celebrities from all walks of life. We have been amazed by their support."

The book includes recipes from pop stars to politicians, churchmen, comedians and the landed gentry.

And while it may not contain their particular recipe for success, "Posh Nosh" offers a tantalising taste of their lifestyle.

John Cleese offered "Cornflakes - a breakfast dish. Buy pack of cornflakes, add milk. It's simple to make and always delicious. As an alternative use Coca Cola instead of milk. Add Basil as required."

"Posh Nosh" is officially launched at Raymond Blanc's restaurant, Le Petit Blanc, on Monday, October 15.

Carole, Judy and Millie, who have already helped to raise more than £100,000 for Francis House by organising an annual concert at Arley Hall, hope the book will be their biggest fundraiser yet.

It will be available in book shops and other outlets priced £12.
