Children are brains behind the book

1/ 8/2001

LOCAL children have won a competition to see their poems printed in a book which will be on sale in the shops.

Kids at Ivybank School on Valley Road put pen to paper to produce poems on a whole range of subjects.

Around 50 of them are to get their creations published in the latest edition of 'Little Verses', which is published by Denton-based 'Henry's Book Company'.

Sub-editor at Henry's, Susan Chapman, said: "Ivybank sent in a really high standard of poems because we have chosen 50 of theirs.

"The winner from each issue will be presented with a £50 book voucher.
